Review/Blabber: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion SPF 50+ PA+++ and My 2 Cents about Organic and "Non-organic" Skincare

As some of you know, I have to change my skincare completely because of my skin condition and my very complicated skin type which makes it harder to find a product in the market that will suit me.

So far, I've already found my current skincare products: (which I will have to review individually soon)

moisturizer (which I think I will use and re-purchase for a long time because I love it)
facial wash (which is quite good and I've already grown to love it)
exfoliating wash (which is really gentle on my skin)
acne treatment
mask

and SUNSCREEN (the hardest to find because you don't know if it will suit your skin or not.)

The only skincare I haven't found yet that suits my skin is toner. I still don't know if I'll be needing it or not.

But first, I'll only be reviewing my CURRENT SUNSCREEN. I'm emphasizing CURRENT here because up to now, I still have mixed feelings about this sunscreen. Don't worry! It did not gave me any kind of bad reaction and it works very good actually, but I don't feel that this will be my HG sunscreen.

Originally, I've been recommended by my derma to try Cetaphil suncreen, but as some of you know, I don't like the feel of Cetaphil on my skin. I've also researched reviews about this and it is actually a very good sunscreen too, but comparing the performance of Neutrogena and the Cetaphil...I think they are just the same. The only downside of Cetaphil (P800-P900+) is that it is more expensive then Neutrogena (P460)

So for now, I'll keep on using and purchasing Neutrogena because I'm on a budget too.

Here is the packaging:

This Neutrogena sunscreen line has 2 variants, one for dry skin and one for oily skin. I chose this one for oily skin. It comes in only one size with the variant for dry skin being a bit bigger than this one. You don't really need much to apply this on the face so it's ok that it has a quite small packaging.

here's a picture showing you how to use it, store it, etc.

the description of the sunscreen.

The ingredients...I know some of you may freak out like "OMG! there are so many chemicals in there, blah blah blah...Organic is always better crap line" Pls. be more open minded about products. This has almost the same ingredients with Cetaphil (which is specifically made for SENSITIVE skin).

I'm not against using organic products because I use organic stuff too! but using organic stuff doesn't always mean that it's already ALWAYS safe to use. I just want everyone to be more open minded and not be one sided about things. I've studied Pharmacology and Toxicology for quite sometime now and I was surprised to see MORE poisonous things coming from PLANTS than from VENOMOUS ANIMALS combined!! These mix of ingredients will not be created if there is a very very very big possibility that it will kill you. Well-known skincare companies may be money-hogging opportunists, but I don't think they are dumb enough to go on a suicidal jump and give us products that are not relatively safe...I can't say anything about the not-so-well-known ones though..

and... People should also be cautious about organic products that are jam-packed with combinations of oh-so-good organic plant-based ingredients because you won't know if the combination of these products may have a good or bad reaction to our body. It's understandable and believable that it will work if you are using ONE plant by-product that has its specific kind of benefits to your body, but have you thought about it's pharmacodynamics if it's combined with another plant by-product?

We always have to remember that EVERYTHING IN EXCESS, MAY IT BE GOOD OR BAD FOR US IS STILL BAD.

and don't get me started on organic, plant-based products are "cruelty-free"....Oh c'mon! stop making me laugh!

Anyway, here's the swatch:

very watery like it's description.

and once it's blended...

beautiful matte finish.

Comment:
- quite affordable compared to other sunscreen with oil-free, matte formula (P460)
- has a matte finish
- blends and absorbs easily.
- did not give me any new breakouts or any kind of bad reaction.
- controlled my oils at bay for at least 6 hours which is great!
- did not leave any white cast on my face.

So far, so good....

Review/Swatch: My NYX Round Lipglosses and Megashine Lipgloss and another addition of Cream blush in Boho Chic

So far these are my lipglosses from NYX. (ordered online from digitaltraincase in multiply)

I'm not a big fan of lip glosses usually because of it's lack of pigmentation that I want, the goopy feel on my lips and because it doesn't even last for more than 30 mins. on my lips....and hair sticking to my lips! nightmare!

That's why I'm very picky with my lipglosses and so far, Etude House Peach water Glosses are still my favorite ones...about the NYX lipglosses...hmmm..I'm having mix feelings about these...

Anyway, here are the swatches.

My round lipglosses:

DOLLY PINK

the flash washed out the true pigmentation of the lipgloss...it should be more pigmented than in the photo, but you can sheer out the color if you want.

TRUE RED

Natural light:

I'm pleasantly surprised how pigmented this is for a lipgloss!

Comment:
Pro:
- it's quite affordable (P200)
- I LOVE THE PIGMENTATION!!
- love the texture! Not too runny, not too sticky.

Cons:
- not readily available locally.
- the smell is sometimes unbearable!! It smells like citrus car-air freshener. Sometimes when I apply too much and lick my lips, it feels like the smells tranfers to my tongue, making me nauseous. C'mon NYX! you're already very rich by now to change the smell of your lipglosses!

My Megashine Lipgloss:

BEIGE:

Natural light:
I don't know why they call this beige...it doesn't look beige to me.

w/ flash:
w/ a bow on top:

Swatch:

Natural light:
w/ flash:

Comments:
Pro:
- great pigmentation for a lipgloss.
- better formula than the round lipgloss which means better texture and feel on the lips.
- a bit steeper priced than the round lipgloss, but it still quite affordable (P260)

Cons:
- not readily available locally.
- The SMELL. Although it has a better smell than the round lipgloss, it's still making me nauseous sometimes because it smells like my son's fever medicine or cough syrup. You can do better than that NYX.

and another addition to my cream blush collection:

BOHO CHIC

Natural light:

I'm kind of disappointed by this one because it has shimmers in it...Many gals like this, but I'm the rare ones who doesn't like extra shimmy-shine on the face.

Quick Collective Reviews on Saizen Products

As you all know, I've purchased some Japanese products (all of the products are woth P85.00) in Saizen in the past month out of curiosity especially when I heard a guy telling his wife that the products were a piece of sh*t...it kinda turned up my curiosity a notch higher just to prove that SOB (s*n *f * B*tch) wrong. I mean why are you inside the Saizen store if you don't like their products? hater much, HOMEBOY?!

So I'm going to make a quick review on my purchases that I've already used and have been using until now. They are surprisingly USEFUL to me.

Eyebrow scissors and comb
A bit weird, but this really help me groom my brows easier than before! I don't have a hard time maintaining my brows anymore.

Eyebrow stencil
the stencil doesn't really fit my face shape, but it still useful for other girls who wants to fill in their brows with an eyebrow pencil.

oil blotting paper
it really absorbs excess oil on my face. it contains more sheets than other oil blotting paper that I've tried.
nail art brush and dotter
I've yet to try the brush, but the dotter is very easy to use.

Nintendo DS lite Protection Film
I thought this would be a SCREEN protector, but I guess this is just a dust protector..it's still alright with me.

Key Cover
this is my favorite! cute-si-fy my boring set of keys. I think I'm gonna buy more of this. It also helps me grip my key better when I'm unlocking something.

Point brush
you have no idea how useful this is in cleaning my son's water container. My son's water container has some kind of contraption for the straw which pops up when open (he likes complicated things) that is hard for me to clean even with a brush. I was very worried because I can see a bit of dirt forming at the hard to reach corners of the container. I'm glad I've found this and it really cleaned the corner of the water container. (^_^)

plastic organizers
These help me organize our pencils, pens and all kinds of art stuff. Here's a photo of how I used them.
the smaller container contained all of our pencils...why do we have so many? because I love writing and drawing stuff..Some of my pencils go way back when I was still in elementary...I didn't use some of the pencils back then because it was too cute for me to use so I let my son use all of my pencils instead...hahaha!
The crayons are for my son and the Oil Pastel is for me...I've done oil pastel painting since I was in high school. You could tell my son and I love colors, but Mr. Panda Eyes isn't good on colors..he's more of a computer geek/wiz.
the larger conatiner contains all of our backup pencils, erasers and pens. Yes, we love school and office supplies..hahaha!

Tie band
This one is for Mr. Panda Eyes. He isn't really very organized with his computer cables, etc. which annoys me most of the time (generally because he isn't an organized person at all) and it drives me MAD!! So I gave him this to use for his cables and cords.

Swatches: All of my NYX Reds...Feeling the Bloody Reds!!! (Pic heavy)

Just to show you quick swatches all of my red NYX round lipsticks.

I don't really believe that reds are only suited for certain types of skin tone or skin color because I've seen people of different skintone and color pull off reds beautifully. I've also tried red lipsticks with warm undertones and with blue undertones and I think anyone (with great confidence) could pull it off.

So here are my swatches: (sorry for the picture quality)

SNOW WHITE
Natural light:
w/ Flash:
it may look kind of bright in the picture, but personally it is the darkest red among the 4 NYX red round lipsticks. it almost look like a bit burnt blood (sorry for the morbid description, I've had too many laboratory experiments) red in the tube. It is a cream, semi-matte with no shimmer or glitter which is great!

Swatches:

Natural light:
W/ flash:

ELECTRA
Natural light:
w/ flash:
Almost the same as Snow White, but this is a teeny weeny bit lighter than Snow White. It almost look like a "fresh sample of blood" red in the tube...great description for the up coming Halloween (even though we don't celebrate it.) Again, this is a cream, almost matte, with no shimmer or glitter.
Both of them are (for me) the "TRUE BLOOD REDS" of the whole NYX round lipstick collection.

Swatches:

Natural light:

w/ flash:

EROS
Natural light:
W/ flash:
artificial light:
This is the brightest red out of the 4. It has a warm, orange-y undertone which gives this red its brightness or what others call it "the pop". It has very, very tiny shimmers that is really not noticeable on the lips. It only gives an illusion of a shiny, with a very small hint of metallic finish to the lips (which doesn't look tacky).

Swatches:
Natural light:
W/ flash:

CHAOS
Natural light:
w/ flash:
artificial light:
this lipstick has quite an interesting bluish red shimmer in the tube making it look like it has a berry or blue undertone to it. The shimmers are very fine and it gives like a dewy, metallic finish red with bluish undertones to the lips which again is not tacky-looking.

Swatches:
Natural light:

I really enjoyed swatching all of these babies which makes all of them my favorites!
