Swatch: The Face Shop Nailpolish in PP408

Just want to show you a swatch of what it looks like. I've done reviews about The Face Shop nailpolishes of this line in my past blogposts, so just check them out.

The Face Shop Nailpolish in PP408

a bit dusty underneath the bottle, sorry...hehehe!

I applied 3 coats to make it as opaque as the color in the bottle.
(you can click on the pictures to enlarge, if you want to see my midget nails...hahaha!)

On A Short Hiatus Again...

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now and since I am so busy with life right now, I've decided to TEMPORARILY restrict myself from blogger and limit my time in the internet. Why the internet? Because internet is eating at least more than 50% of my time. This means more time being a lazy person and less time doing things more important than this. Besides that, I've got personal matters to attend to like changing or at least improving me and my life for the better.

I don't know why I still have to explain things to you my "cyber strangers" hahaha! I guess, this is my way of thanks for taking time in reading my reviews even though I don't think my blogs are as professionally and eloquently written like others.

Do not worry, I will still do reviews  from time to time after this short hiatus...and even though I am restricting myself from blogging and attending to other sites that I usually visit, I will still be an avid reader of my favorite bloggers.

Until my next review, Take care! (^_^)v

Review/Swatches: Latest Batch of NYX Round Lipsticks In My Collection (Pic Heavy)

Another batch of Nyx round lipstick in my collection. Maybe some of you are already sick of seeing me having another NYX swatching fiesta, but the collector in me cannot stop...hahaha!

Well, for me, I think I already have "completed" my NYX round lipstick collection. Besides the fact that I've already satiated my "hunger" in trying different colors of the round lipsticks and I've already purchased the lipsticks in the collection that I feel I could wear whenever I feel like it, I don't think I'll be purchasing the odd colors from the bunch though. My mother would nag me out of my wits if ever she sees me wearing a black colored lipstick..hahahaha!

Maybe, I will repurchase someday or try their black label lipsticks, but for now, I have to finish at least a few lipsticks in my collection before venturing out to try different brands of lipsticks. (^_^)v I feel like a lipstick pirate! hahaha!

Ya, know the drill. Here's the swatches sistas!

NYX Round Lipstick in IRIS
I really don't like frost-finish lipsticks, but this looks quite good on me (in my opinion).

Natural light:
doesn't give coverage at all, but it would look good on top of another lipstick if you want to.
It has that peachy undertone with gold shimmers.

W/ flash:

NYX Round Lipstick in Thalia
I though I would like this, but...not really.

Natural light:
personally, the color of this lipstick is too dark for my liking. It makes me look tired. I already have quite dark lips and I don't think I want it to look more dark except if it's red...hihihi!

W/ flash:

NYX Round Lipstick in Louisiana
A hot pink that surprisingly brightens my appearance. I knew that this lipstick was the missing piece in my collection. I've always wanted to purchase this first, but it's always sold out.

Natural light:
the sun is already setting hence, the bad lighting.

 W/ flash:

NYX Round Lipstick in Peony
I was curious with this lipstick ever since I've seen this in a few blogs only. This is not really popular among the beauty bloggers and I find that this lipstick is underrated by many, because it looks scary brown in the tube, but actually it is one of the most wearable lip color I could find for my skintone and lip color.

They should be more scared with the "NYX RL THALIA" because, in my opinion, with what I see in swatches from blogs, "NYX RL THALIA" is an awful color...doesn't suit most people especially with people of light medium to medium skintones with dark pigmented lips like me.

(just click the photo to enlarge)
you could see the bluish shimmer in the tube, very unique.

 Natural light:

I love it.

Review/Swatch: Etude House Miss Tangerine VIP Girls Dear Darling Lipstick in OR207

Such a long name for a lipstick. This is actually the first lipstick that I bought from Etude House. The only reason I bought this is because I don't have any "true orange" color in my lipstick collection. Since I don't have any lipstick from Etude House yet, it was an opportunity to purchase one when their "Miss Tangerine" makeup line came in.

As much as I don't like joining the hype...any kind of hype (to make my reviews fair), the orange color of lipstick that they have here is quite promising...except the mediocre formula of their lipsticks.

As always, from the box to the lipstick, they really make an effort to make it cute and "princess-y".

more info.

the packaging...honestly, another reason why I'm always hesitant to buy this is because of its packaging. I know it's cute and "girly" for others, but I'm not really into that kind of category. Yes, I have a "girly" side because I love makeup and skincare, but pink and princess-y is an overkill for me.

I was planning to buy the lighter orange lipstick that they have, but the SA told me that this very bright orange suits me. I don't usually listen to salesladies, but I was thinking, "what the heck! I can apply this sheer to have a lighter shade of orange on my lips!". So, I agreed to purchase this.

I know, it's a "shocking orange" color in the picture, but looking at it personally, it is actually a lighter shade of this, nonetheless, it is still a bright color. I know, I need to buy a better camera next time.

Where:
SM Northedsa The Block

Price:
P278.00

Smell:
- like candy, specifically, orange flavored "Frutella"...do you still remember "Frutella" I don't know if they still make that kind of soft candy nowadays...I think "Sugus" is their new brand name now...I don't know.

Packaging:
not my personal preference.

Comments:
- has a satin finish.
- applies semi-opaque to opaque.

Pros:
- applies true to the color from the tube.
- pigmentation lasts quite long on the lips. It can act as a stain on the lips, IF! you don't put lipbalm first on your lips before applying this lipstick.
- affordable and locally available.
- applies smoothly on well moisturized lips ONLY.

Cons:
- emphasizes lip lines. I think it emphasized every nook and cranny of lip lines I have and it sucks!
- not recommended for dry, chapped lips because it has a rather "dry" formula even if this has a satin finish.
- this color is not for everybody.
- smell is quite strong, but it's not really a con for me because it goes away after a few minutes.

Swatch:
As I've said, it can act as a stain, as long as you don't put lipbalm before you put this lipstick, but girl I tell ya! Your lips will feel dry like a Sahara desert. Not a good feeling!

how it looks like when I apply lipstick in "dabbing" motion. For me, this is one of the best technique in applying lipsticks, especially for lipsticks that has a mediocre to uhm...crappy "not good" formula.

with gloss. Sorry, it's blurry, but you can still see mah lip lines. I know, I don't have goodlookin' lips since birth and I've accepted that. I've had an allergy once and it made my lips swollen with 0% lip lines ala "Angelina Jolie" and all I can say is, it doesn't look good on me. hahahaha!

"full strength" application

Hope you weren't bored with my blabbing...I can't help it...hehehe!
