Review: Missha Nail Polish PK001

Just got this online from my long time online seller (thelittlecoolshop.multiply.com) because Missha had a sale going on in Korea last January 2010.

The sale price is still a bit steep (P150) than the price (P120) in a Missha branch here in the Philippines, considering its their cheapest nail polish line, but I still bought it because the nail polishes that are available in Missha in the Philippines lacks variety. Sucks because I love collecting unique colors.

Missha The Style Nail Polish PK001

Natural light:
W/ Flash:

A very beautiful, milky, peachy flesh color

Comments:
Pros:
- unique heart shaped bottle (Missha trademark)
- doesn't have a very strong nail polish smell.
- true to the color in the bottle
- dries quickly
- has wide variety of colors

Cons:
- a bit expensive for a small nail polish
- did not last very long. Stayed on 3 days max.
- minor cracks and chipping seen at day 2 (I do chores everyday)
- a bit streaky when applied, but it really didn't bother me.
- had to put on 3-4 coats cause it's quite sheer...I think almost all light, milky colored nail polish do that.

All in all a so-so product, but I still love the color.

Review: Missha The Style Nail Polish in KH02

Howdy! Another nail polish review..it's been quite awhile since I've done this. Here we go!

Missha The Style Nail Polish in KH02

W/ flash:
I bought this particular polish in SM north edsa. Kinda bought it out of pity to the sales ladies..I think no one ever dared to go in the store because sales ladies there tend to follow you everywhere you go which can be kinda annoying if you're not in the mood to be nice..yes! we have our days...

Natural light:

I love early morning sunshine! The best lighting eva!

Here is my very messy newly painted nail swatch.

W/ flash:

Ever wondered why i don't take the excess polish of the sides of my nails right after I finished painting it?
It's because it's easier to take excess nail polish right after you take a bath...the excess polish tends to peel by itself without ruining the nail polish on your nails. Try it!

Natural light:

W/ a special guest, my pet "Gulat" (meaning Stunned)...RIP....I was really depressed when he died at the same time after my thesis defense fail...

Comments:

Pro:
- dries easily
- doesn't have a strong nail polish smell.
- has many unique colors to choose from, if you buy online.
- true to the color in the bottle
- comes in a unique heart shaped bottle (great packaging still matters!)

Cons:
- expensive for a small sized bottle (P120)
- cracks easily w/ slight chipping after about 3 days. I do heavy labor with my hands so the quality of any nail polish I try is really tested. 3 days for means a nail polish fail.

Collective Hauls

I've never noticed that I've purchased quite a lot (for me) than I normally do...It's not really me to buy something in a whim, but I really have a good reason why I bought these things.

First stop. Skincare!

I bought the Avon Anew Rejuvinate Day Cream and the Flash Facial. I've heard great reviews about this Anew line that I've decided it's about time I purchase some especially this month!

I took the chance to grab some because with every purchase (acc. to the brochure) of an Anew Rejuvinate product that is worth P699.00, I get a free eye cream! (^_^)

I got 2 eye creams because:
Avon Anew Day Cream = P699
Avon Anew Flash Facial (serum) = P899

Not bad! I'm planning to complete the line, but I'm currently kinda broke. hahahaha!

Second stop. BOOKS = love!!

On my past blogs about my frustration with my thesis, I promised myself that after my thesis defense, I will buy myself books written by RICK RIODAN and yes it's the Percy Jackson series. You may have noticed that I only got the chance to buy the book 1, 3, and 4...Book 2 was already out of stock and Book 5 is still a HARDBOUND. I only buy paperbacks (which cost me P289.00 each) because hardbounds are expensive (costs P600+).

I am very careful with my books so I don't really need the hardbound version. My other books that I've bought in high school still looks new, of course the paper aged with time, so that's normal.

I've been quite curious about the story since I've watched the movie and it left me quite unsatisfied because usually, the BOOK version has the complete version of the story compared to a remake done in the MOVIES.

One good example is the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. Good thing, I've read the book because the movie only remade small parts of the story which is not as good as the BOOK version. I've already read them all last, last year so maybe I'll try to give ratings to books that I've read. I'm not good with reviewing books. I'm more of a SPOILER..hahahaha!

Third stop. The Online Haul!

This package took a very, very, very long time to arrive because I purchased these nailpolishes from Missha from one of my favorite online seller, thelittlecoolshop, last January 2010, even before I've purchased my last nailpolish from Missha in SM northedsa and it only arrived March 8, 2010...This was the first time I got my package this long, but it's not the sellers fault so it's ok! (^_^)

Along with my purchase, she also gave me freebies (^_^). By the way, the nailpolishes was P150.00..I know it's a bit expensive by P30.00 compared to what I've purchased in SM north...but it's ok..Colors are limited in  that Missha branch anyway...(^_^)

Review/Rant: Missha The Style Crystal Nail Polish in AGRO1

This is the 3rd Missha Nail Polish that I bought with the other 2 last December and this is the only time that I got the will to review this because I was so disappointed with this particular nail polish from the price up to the formulation. You can say that I'm pissed off..

Product: Missha The Style Crystal Nail Polish in AGR01

Comment:

As you can see, the color is a very beautiful true gold. It actually reminds me of the gold paint that is used to re-paint faded chinese characters on tombstones in Chinese cemeteries. Odd, but I actually like the color.

The problem is, the nail polish formula is not smooth, but goopy and very sticky and making this particular polish a MATTE finish is a total FAIL! It's very hard to work with. One coat is already a nightmare! Look:

First application:

First application is very uneven! I already knew that the 2nd application would be ugly.

Second Application:

I was already frustrated with the formula! To think that this particular nail polish is brand new! I would understand if the nail polish is already old and used many times, but NO! this was the first time I opened this s...!

What made me more frustrated is because this nail polish line (Crystal nail polish) is the most expensive of all their polish lines! (I bought this for P220!!!!!) I wasted my money on this...

However! I will not generalize the formulation of other colors of nail polish in this line because I haven't tried it...yet! Yes! I will be fair for this line to prove that their that all of their formulation is not made of crap.

After 3-4 application, I was left with this beautiful MATTE, but very metallic almost foil-like color. Here it is!

The DOWN SIDE: because you have to apply a very, very thick polish several times just to get an even color as possible, you will see air bubbles on the nail polish when it dries. Look:

So whatever you do, the result would still be crap.

To prove that the formulation is a MAJOR FAIL:

very, very thick and goopy.

very, sticky-looking polish
looks glue-like

The only thing that I can appreciate with this polish is the unique paddle-like brush that is very handy to use especially for beginners. (If the formulation was good) and the unique trademark heart-shaped packaging.
Here's the pics showing you the brush:

the top of the bottle where you can see the white cap
SUMMARY:

PRO:
- unique packaging
- unique brush
- wide variety of unique colors
- does not have a very strong smell

CONS:
- formulation is CRAP
- very expensive (P220) and not worth the money (at least for this particular nail polish)
- hard to apply
- dries so quickly it's not helpful anymore
- oddly, creates gas bubbles because of the thick consistency of the polish

Here is the pics of the nail polish in the bottle:

Review: Missha The Style Lucid Nail Polis in GL01

Yes people, another Missha nail polish review and this time, This nail polish is from their "Lucid nail polish line".

I ordered this nailpolish w/ 2 others (GR002 w/c I already did a review on and the AGR01 w/c I will be giving a review on in the near future) from an online seller.

Each of the nail polishes I bought has different prices. I'll just give an outline of the ff:

The Style Nail Polish (GR002) = P75 (acc. to my seller, this is Missha's basic nail polish line)
The Style Lucid Nail Polish (GL01) = P120
The Style Crystal Nail Polish (AGR01) = P220 (this is Missha's most expensive nail polish line)

As you can see, I bought one from each nail polish line out of curiosity. I was wondering what would be the difference of each nail polish line to give them different price range? (from bit expensive to ridiculously expensive..hahaha!)

To give you a heads up about my opinion about the 3 nailpolishes, THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME. UNFORTUNATELY, THE MOST EXPENSIVE NAIL POLISH WAS THE MOST DISAPPOINTING NAIL POLISH I'VE EVER BOUGHT IN MY LIFE..piece of sh**..if you ask me, so you could skip this (AGR01) sh** or try at your own risk.

Anyway, on with the review.

Comment:

This particular nail polish is very, very sheer. This is only good for designing a boring nail color...give it more "bling" (^_^)

Pro:
- has a unique paddle shape brush which is surprisingly great to use for easier nail polish application w/c is great for amateurs like me. haha! I wish all nail polishes will have this kind of brush. Here's a pic (from all sides!):

- dries quite fast.
- doesn't have a very strong nail polish smell.
- has very fine glitters..I don't like chunky ones.
- comes in a cute, unique heart shape bottle. Here's a pic:
- it's dupable. Here's the dupe:
You could also find dupes like this from The Face Shop or Elianto nail polishes..just check.

Cons:
- expensive
- very sheer. You can coat for the nth time and it will still be sheer.

Here's a pic of the first coat:

Haul: Missha and Nyx stuff

This is quite a great day for me today. The reagent for the blood chemistry test was delivered at lunch time. Meaning I can finish my thesis before graduation! yey!!!

Another great thing that happened is that my order from digitaltraincase arrived today! yey! My first NYX lipsticks and cream blush is here! yey!

Review and swatches will be done in the future (^_^)

I also went to SM northedsa today with my husband while waiting for his car to finish from its maintenance checkup. This time, I took the chance to really really check out the prices and the products offered in MISSHA.

Sorry for the misinformation I gave last time at my MISSHA NAILPOLISH REVIEW. The prices of their nail polishes ranges from P120-P220. Sorry for the wrong approximation of prices...I can't stay that long in the shop last time because all sales ladies were kinda ambushing me in a nice way...You know what it feels like to be too accommodated inside a store especially when you're the only customer inside..I really want to be left alone when I go inside any store. If I need assistance, I will be the one to go to you.

Anyway, I bought their MINISIZE nail polish worth P120 which already is their most affordable line of nail polish.

Review and swatch in the future!

I hope they would still consider adjusting their prices a bit lower...or maybe put their store somewhere where many people pass by..curiosity always sparks cravings to a shopaholic for quality makeup and skincare like me and you!! yes you! (^_^)

Review: Missha Nail Polish in GR002 - UPDATED (added more info.)

I bought Missha nail polishes last month (December 2009) because I was searching for more unique colors to try on my nails.

FYI: MISSHA HAS ALSO OPENED A STORE IN SM NORTH EDSA ANNEX. I THINK IT HAS OPENED THE SAME TIME ETUDE HOUSE HAS OPENED HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES. UNFORTUNATELY, PRICES OF THE PRODUCTS ARE ALSO JACKED UP LIKE SKINFOOD STORES HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES. I'M NOT SURPRISED WHY NEWS ABOUT MISSHA OPENING A STORE HERE DID NOT BECAME POPULAR.

I only bought 3 nail polishes, 1 from each of their nail polish line except from their ridiculously expensive nailpolish line...I think they have 4 nail polish line which ranges from a bit expensive (P100-120) to RIDICULOUSLY expensive (which ranges from P120-P250 I THINK)....THESE ARE THE PRICES I BELIEVE I SAW IN THE MALL LAST MONTH. JUST CHECK! Sorry for my short term memory loss..hahaha!

I'm not really the type to splurge on something that is not really a necessity, but I gave in to try IMPULSE BUYING for once in my life. I should live a little..Life is short...hahaha!

Prices of the Missha Nail Polishes from my online seller ranges from P75.00-P250.00 (this was when it was on sale). Now, I think prices are higher, but not as high as the mall prices.

I bought my Missha nail polish from an online seller in multiply. She gave me a bit of a special discount from my purchases last Christmas because I am already her "suki" (long time loyal customer). So the price I stated above are her regular prices. hehehe! I remember I bought this for only P75.00

So here's my first review on Missha nail polishes.

Product: Missha Nail Polish in GR002 (this is their regular nail polish line)

What it looks like on natural light:
What it looks like with flash:

The at the bottom, the bottle looks like it is shaped like a heart. Trademark of Missha. All of their nail polish bottles are heart-shaped

Comment:

In the bottle, it looks like a gorgeous teal color or a creamy sea foam green color.

Pro:
- Opaque at first coat. Anyone who is a pro at applying nail polishes can get it at 1 coat.
- Dries fast.
- Doesn't have a strong nail polish smell which is great because I have asthma. (unless when you smell right from the bottle which is quite stupid..hahaha!)
- lasts for a week at most. (I have tested this while doing heavy duty chores at home and the only flaw you can see are little cracks here and there, but no chipping)

What it looks like on nails:

YAH! I KNOW THE NAIL APPLICATION LOOKS LIKE CRAP! I WAS SO EXCITED ON TAKING A PICTURE OF THIS RIGHT AFTER I APPLIED THE NAIL POLISH. SO, STOP HATIN' I DON'T NEED TO READ SENSELESS COMMENTS.

Natural light (w/o top coat on):

I forgot to take a picture of this with the camera flash on.

Cons:
- expensive for a nail polish (costs Php120)
- looks quite dull and flat on nails when top coat is not yet applied.

This is what it looks like when I applied some subtle glitters on it:

Natural Light:

With flash:

I used this for a "bling" effect because it was quite dull looking without top coat.

This was only given to me by my sister. She's not really into nail polishes so she gave me this. Some random nailpolish from Dubai, but I love this. Makes any kind of dull nail polishes look better.

Have a nice day!
